Which Do I Need?

5" vs. 6"

Most homes need 5" gutter with 2" x 3" downspouts. Approximately 30 linear feet of gutter per downspout is recommended, depending on the amount of roof surface flowing into the gutter. Sometimes a 3" x 4" downspout can be used, if needed because of a large amount of roof or other applications where a large amount of water will require additional attention.

6" gutter with 3" x 4" downspouts normally is recommended for commercial buildings, bigger homes with large amounts of roof surface, metal roof buildings, and applications where it is not possible to have downspouts as often as needed (approximately 30 to 40 feet per downspout.
